My first blog... Gasp! I have no idea what I am doing, other than sharing our story. My little family and I just moved to Hawaii. In attempt to keep our family and friends updated on our adventures I decided to start a blog. Hope you enjoy! Let our story begin....

After an exciting and long awaited graduation from dental school, we packed our bags and headed to Hawaii to begin Nate's (my hubby) pediatric dentistry residency.

Our wonderful family. Thank you for all your love and support!
Give it up for the newest dentist, Dr. Riz

With our parents at our side, and far too many tears shed, we were set to leave our home we'd made in Portland, Oregon for the past four years.

Our plane was scheduled to take five hours, but due to a no-fly-zone, our plane took nearly six hours before landing in Honolulu. Talk about a nervous mama trying to keep a 19 month old occupied and happy for six hours on a packed plane. I said my prayers that we would all be able to stay sane and happy on the plane - and that those around us might provide us with a little patience and maybe a helping hand or two. But... BOOYA! Cohen (my kiddo) was quite the trooper. We may have had a candy store's stock of suckers, a few too many Dora the Explorer episodes, and our fair share of walks up and down the aisle. However, we made it! No tears, no screaming. What on earth did I do to deserve such an awesome flight?! (Trust me, he is not always this quiet and pleasant.)

The first sucker. Definitely not the last.
"All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go. I'm standin' here outside...." the amazing Honolulu airport! Beautiful rainbow state, look out. The Risley's have arrived! With quite possibly too many bags.... We looked like quite the tourists.

Cohen was over it. Little did he know that up next was an hour wait at the rental car facility. Poor guy.
